Co-Curricular Life

We want children to try as many things as possible and not necessarily see themselves as ‘sporty’ or ‘creative’ but see that that fun and discovery can be found in many forms, no matter what their innate strengths or talents might be. That is why we have created our own co-curricular programme, All In, dedicated to supporting every child’s personal development and opening doors for discovery as they ‘find their thing’. All In is very much an integral part of their education and experience here at Alleyn’s Regent’s Park.

The All In co-curricular programme includes a wide variety of clubs, during and after the school day, alongside a variety of sports teams, events, residential visits and school trips, events, performances, speakers and presentations. On top of this, children get involved with charitable projects and sit on committees that shape school life. The whole programme is designed to reinforce our school ROCCK values and provide an outlet for every child, whatever that might be.

Clubs

We offer a rich and varied co-curricular programme to ignite new passions and build on existing interests, ensuring that every pupil finds something to capture their imagination – whether in sports, creative arts, music, or environmental stewardship. Many children choose to explore physical activities such as football, street dance, fencing, or karate. Our sports clubs rotate each term, enabling pupils to develop their strengths and discover new pursuits in a supportive, engaging environment.

For those drawn to artistic and performing endeavours, we provide clubs focused on filmmaking, textiles, knitting, and creative writing. With multiple choirs, brass bands, and an orchestra, music features prominently in our range of clubs. Pupils can opt for one-to-one instrumental lessons and receive preparation for graded music exams or LAMDA if they wish. Frequent concerts and performances help them gain confidence and showcase their developing talents to the wider school community.

Beyond sports and the arts, we encourage academic exploration through a variety of clubs, from STEM-based activities in science, engineering, and coding to language clubs – including some not found in our formal curriculum. Children engage in hands-on projects, problem-solving, and collaborative learning, enriching their classroom studies. Our commitment to environmental responsibility is evident in the Climate Change Committee, which leads eco-friendly initiatives at school and beyond. Pupils can also join sub-groups for gardening and outdoor mindfulness, learning to appreciate and care for their surroundings.

Another highlight is our pupil newspaper club, ideal for pupils with a passion for writing or an investigative streak. These budding journalists gain editorial experience, producing content that ranges from entertainment and creative work to thought-provoking articles on school events and broader topics.

Most clubs run before or after school or during lunch breaks, with new opportunities offered each term. While most activities are free of charge, certain specialist clubs such one-to-one music lessons may require a small fee. We do, however, expect pupils to commit to their chosen clubs for the duration of the term.

Trips

Educational visits are integral to life at Alleyn’s Regent’s Park Prep, allowing children to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Carefully planned to enrich our ambitious curriculum, these trips nurture curiosity, teamwork, and confidence – often inspiring pupils to develop fresh perspectives and lasting memories.

We make the most of our superb location, frequently visiting sites of cultural, scientific, and historical significance. From local museums and galleries to performances and workshops, each outing is designed to link directly with our curriculum or provide an exciting new experience.

As pupils progress through the school, they have opportunities for overnight or multi-day residential stays. They challenge pupils to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, build resilience, and strengthen friendships.

Some year groups also enjoy Bushcraft experiences, activity centres, or environmental projects, complementing our Climate Change Committee’s eco-work. Older children might have the chance to participate in outdoor pursuits like sailing or kayaking, further broadening their horizons.
